Sunday Marathon

Since both Leigh and myself are feeling a bit yucky, we spent the entire day at home. It was a marathon of movies: Under the Tuscan Sun, Love Actually, Two Weeks Notice, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Last Holiday, and Desperado. Whew! It is awesome how movies can manage to comfort us while we're feeling ill. Directors and their crews can work magic in uplifting people's spirits.

Perfect Song for Fridays!!!!!

This is a song made exclusively for Fridays, which is when (I believe) the Heavens part and this Barry White song is blissfully blaring in the background.

Looking forward to Summmmmmer!!!!!

The past two days have been mentally and physically exhausting since we were testing. When I'd get home, I just wanted to sit down, relax, and do nothing whatsoever. Today, however, I cooked dinner and ate it alone since the pet duo wanted to be outdoors and Leigh is at work. He should be arriving soon (I hope).

Tomorrow is the first of the month. Yayyyy! We made it through the month of April, and now it's just 31 more days of school left. I'm hoping to do loads of things this Summer, if possible. I'm working on a list of what I'd like to learn, do, and see. One possibility that I'm looking into is taking a belly dancing course at the university. Linda, my sis, sent me the brochure with some information. I'd love to fully learn all of the dance moves , especially since I've always admired Shakira's dancing. Yet, I still find out what days the classes are being held as well as if it won't conflict with Leigh's job. Another possibility I'm contemplating is to join the gym.

One of my favorite songs!!!

I never get tired of hearing this song. The message is so powerful, especially when you're feeling a bit of melancholy. Also, the tempo is awesome!

BRING ME TO LIFE by Evanescence

"The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace from that day. We cannot change our past, we cannot change the fact that people will act in certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing that we can do is play on the one string that we have and this string is, Attitude. I am convinced that life is ten percent what happens to me and ninety percent how I react to it. And so it is with you....We are in charge of our Attitudes."
-- Charles Swindoll

Monday, Monday

The school day went at a breakneck pace today, especially since the following two days will be days of exams for the kiddos. It will appear to be a longer-than-usual day since we eat breakfast in our classroom and then the children will commence their exams. When it's time for lunch, we will also dine in the classroom, and then testing will ensue once again. So it'll be a day of constant and active monitoring (on our part).

My First Taste of Yorkshire Pudding

A Delicious, Golden Brown!

Leigh All Smiles After Cooking

Second Batch-30 mins.

Our Sunday Meal

The Scene Before Everything is Devoured

Thankful for This Abundance of Food

It's been a stormy day---we had a few tornado watches and warnings but thankfully, all is well. We desperately needed the rain for our crops, so this weather is much deeply appreciated. Leigh worked on this scrumptious meal while Rocco and Shak dozed in the dark living room. The Yorkshire Pudding, Brisket and all of the trimmings were simply superb!

Lovely Quote

“Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.Live simply, love generously, care deeply and speak kindly…Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass….it’s about learning to dance in the rain.”
