Oversleeping on Saturday

After spending most of the day asleep, I finally got up at 4 p.m. shocked and disoriented. I couldn't believe that both Leigh and I fell asleep at noontime during the dvd's showing of what the keyboard is capable of doing. Leigh woke up earlier than I did, but he didn't wake me up because he said that I was sleeping soundly and that my body must have needed that extra snoozing time. Once I finally got up and ready, Leigh and I went out to eat pizza, which was going to be our breakfast/lunch/dinner all-in-one meal. (*Note: That's Leigh's meal pictured---not mine...lol! I had pizza and a salad!)

Gift from My Hubby

This gift came in yesterday, and boy I can't wait to learn how to play it!!!! I am reading Piano for Dummies, and I also have the eMedia Piano and Keyboard Basics software. Now I just need to fight Leigh off of the bench...lol!

piano
After staying up super late last night (as noted in our Yahoo blog), we've been trying to do our best to rest today. I'm fighting off the urge to take a much-needed nap at the moment, so I've been reading "Piano for Dummies" and have learnt a few piano notes just by reading the book already. Leigh bought me a digital piano(dp) for my upcoming bday. We finally decided My dp should be coming in the mail sometime soon, so I'm eager to learn as much as I can before it arrives. Plus, I've gone a bit mad in ordering music left and right.piano

I cooked Chuck Pot Roast, Boiled Potatoes, and Maple-Glazed Carrots for dinner tonight. Those two plates belong to Leigh...lol!...not really, one's mine. Hehe. Well, Friday's already here, and it truly doesn't feel like a week has passed by at all---that's the scary bit. I feel as if only a few days have passed, yet the calendar indicates otherwise. We're just now getting settled in to have a nice quiet evening at home--most likely watching television and surfing the net during commercials.

Three Generations of Strong Women....

I arranged this photo frame with black and white photographs of my Mom, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. I was going to place a photo from my childhood in here but decided that I'd rather have my Great-Grandma's photo. This frame will be hanging in our living room after I screw some eyelets onto the edge of the frame and string some maroon ribbon to give it a feminine touch.

I am also wanting to get a frame showing three generations of Leigh's family. I think it would be lovely to have such a display of our families in our living room.

summer

Now that the 2007-2008 school year is finally over, I have been trying to concoct a list of Summer Goals to accomplish before I return back to work. I am referring back to my original New Year's Resolutions to help guide me. So far, here
is my list, which is a work in progress:
1. Read 20 books.
2. Complete at least two home projects:
a) print photos and decorate with photo frame mini-project and b)paint and decorate the living room/kitchen.
3. Exercise between 4-6 times each week.
4. Drink more water!!!!!
5. Actually work on perfecting an uplifting morning routine.
6. Do some arts and crafts. Learn how to crochet...and actually paint again!
7. Study a foreign language.
8. Go on a mini-vacation.
9. Keep my garden alive and flourishing instead of lifeless and brown.
10. Go out fishing as often as possible.

Hopefully, I'll be able to integrate these goals in our daily life in addition to visiting Mom and working in the office with Leigh. Hopefully, I
will complete these goals and more. :)
