Black Friday

At 4:15 a.m., my alarm clock was blaring out a song that was TOO LOUD for that time of the morning. However, I got out of bed and got dressed. And my sister, niece, and I headed to Wal-Mart for the good sales that had been advertised in the circular. Ahhhh, it was exhilarating finding good bargains. Once we finally paid for our purchases, we headed out for breakfast, and by the time we knew it, we were headed off to other stores that were out of town. Then, at 11 a.m., we were in the cinema watching "Twilight", which is such a beautiful tale of love involving a mortal with a vampire. The setting of the movie is both eerie and breathtaking, and I am now such a fan!

I am now reading the first book of the series (also titled Twilight).

Thanksgiving Day

Yesterday was Thanksgiving Day, a day to reflect on things that one is most grateful for in life. Plus, it was a day of sharing time with family and friends. The day was lovely, but I missed Mom so very much because she has always played a major role in our family celebrations. It felt as though there was a piece of me missing. However, I did celebrate the holiday even though a part of me wanted to shut down and eliminate the holiday altogether. But, I didn't. And the day passed by like all of the other days. Yet, even though I felt the underlying emotions of feeling homesick, the day was filled with laughter and love.

My First Sewing Project: A Beret Thanks to the Martha Stewart Site:)

Leigh gave me a sewing machine for Christmas, and I've already put it to great use. My first project, a beret, has been my pride and joy for the moment. Completing it today makes me feel as though I've actually done something productive and not given up (although at some point I did get a bit irritable when trying to sew in a straight line!) It's not a perfect piece, but it is wearable, and I'm so happy that I can make something useful by actually sewing! I have one more beret to sew and then hopefully I'll be moving on to making curtains.

Cold Front

winter Pictures, Images and Photos
Okay, we're supposed to get cold weather in a few hours. The coldest temperatures will probably drop down to the thirties. Not as cold as to bring snow, but the thought of cool weather has me wishing for glistening ivory snow, hot cocoa, and wearing fuzzy sweaters.

A Loss

I went back to work today, and at the moment I'm feeling extremely tired. The morning began with some sadness since Blue (our Betta fish) passed away today. I was going to feed him his morning meal when I noticed that he was at the bottom of the fish bowl. I wanted to burst into tears because we've had him as a member of our family for months now, and I've gotten used to watching him when I cook or talking to him when I was frustrated with something. (He was situated on the dinner table.) My heart is a tad heavy tonight with grief of losing such a good pet who brought so much light into our life. Her Sadness Pictures, Images and Photos

Hilarious Christmas Song

"Oh Holy Night" is one of my favorite Christmas songs, especially when someone with a strong beautiful voice sings it.

For that moment, it seems as if everything in the world is right. As for this version, well, it's something that makes me laugh because Cartman's voice is hilarious, especially when his voice changes on the 'divine' portion of the song. LOL!

In the Mood for Christmas

I practiced a bit on my piano tonight, and I stumbled upon this piece of music, which I practiced over and over. Now the song plays in my head so I needed to listen to it on the pc.

Here's Wham singing "Last Christmas":
