Update on our House-Hunting Adventure

Um, we've been house-hunting. A few Saturdays ago we visited a possible home to purchase. It had been built in 1920---four bedroom, two bathrooms, 14 acres,etc... It was a lovely home with hardwood floors that I would have slid on with my socks while alone at home..lol. But, they quite ruined the house by putting some siding on it. Normally, I don't mind the siding on homes. Many homes look good in it. But it sort of demolished the authenticity of what the inside of the house looked like. While you were indoors, it looked antique and quaint. However, the exterior didn't match the interior. Our real estate agent didn't know much about the place, and I do believe that we frightened her too much with our boldness. First of all, the house had an attic and I was dead-set on seeing it. So as soon as the caretaker turned on the lighting on the stairway for me, I zoomed up the stairs into the vast darkness of the attic. The realtor kept telling me to be careful, go slowly, and that I should wait for my husband. I told her that I'd be fine. She hesitated halfway up the stairs and then retreated back, unwilling to reach the top. As soon as she saw Leigh headed towards the attic (minutes later), she told him that I didn't listen to her to wait. Leigh replied...she never does...lol.

When we were touring the laundry room, Leigh found a hole in the floorboards. It led to a cellar, which no one knew of. Leigh went down the steep stairway to find that there were tons of canned preserves dating back to who knows what year! It was pretty funny to see the realtor's face when she asked where my husband was, and I pointed towards the bottom of the house. Her eyebrows were raised in shock. I do believe the way that she was carrying on that we were daredevils.
