Monday

Today was waiver day so it was comprised of senseless meetings that are concocted just to prevent us from working in our classrooms. However, we did manage to get a few important things done. Afterwards, I came home and cooked dinner for Leigh. We had a delicious bowl of squash with chicken. How I love eating this during cool weather. And today was just the day since it was drizzling on and off all day long.

Now, I'm just chillin' before my t.v. program "True Beauty" which airs at 9 p.m. So you can say that I'm like this owl..though I don't believe my eyes are as huge as saucers..lol.

猫头鹰也爱美! Pictures, Images and Photos

Still house hunting....

Okay I've been searching for a potential house to buy, and it's taken me from New York to Missouri. And this doesn't help me much (other than making me want to move to these states since the homes I've found are absolutely adorable and reasonably priced! My favorite site to surf is oldhouses.com, which has soooo many historic homes that are simply elegant-looking. But, I digress. However, it does allow me to dream a bit on the kind of house I'd like to have someday. Both Leigh and I agree that the house must be in the countryside. Yet, he wants a new house while I prefer old houses. To me, they seem more well-made as well as have a sense of history.

One house I did manage to find in our vicinity had one wall draped in crosses from the top of the wall to the bottom. There were about 21 crosses or more on the entire wall. I love crosses, and I do tend to have my share hung in each room since I feel a sense of security with them around me. But, Leigh on the other hand, thought that the house must have something wrong with it since it was priced at a low rate PLUS the wall's excessive decor didn't help any. (Either way we crossed that residence off of our potential list of houses.)

Valentine's Dinner Date

After visiting Mom for a few hours, Leigh took me out to a nice seafood restaurant, which was lively with music and tons of people celebrating Valentine's Day. Here are a few photos we took while there.

Friday and Valentine's Day

Leigh worked late on Friday night, and so did I. Ugh. But, fortunately we were able to enjoy a late dinner at home.

On Saturday, Leigh and I went to pick up some flowers for Mom (since her bday would be on the following day). And surprise, surprise, I got some flowers for Valentine's. Yayyy! The lady at the flower shop let the cat out of the bag when she said that there were TWO orders for flowers instead of one. But, either way, I loved them, and it was a delightful surprise!

We then headed to visit Mom at the home, and she looked so beautiful in the red shirt that I had bought her for Valentine's Day. For a minute or so, she recognized who I was and called me "mija" (term of endearment meaning 'my daughter'), and it lifted my spirits even more. We got her room beautified with a proper Valentine's snuggly blanket and heart shaped pillow, which brightened up her room. Then we took her to the living room until it was time for lunch. She ate that, which ended up being ENTIRELY pureed, and I was exasperated when I saw the plate because she should be eating regular food (with the exception of just having the meat pureed). However, I know whose fault it was that they ended up pureeing Mom's meals, but I didn't cause a stir because I wanted Mom to enjoy her meal. But I will find out from the DON (Director of Nursing) why this change was made to Mom's meals and who authorized it.
