Photos of a Haircut

Leigh decided to give himself a haircut, and he gave himself a shorter cut than he normally gets.(He used a No. 1 on the trimmer.) It's better for him since the days have been reaching the 100 degrees Fahrenheit mark or higher. So this new 'do will keep him cooler. As for Shak, he also got a haircut of sorts since he's turned into a fighting alley cat once again, and he's lost some fur and has a few battle scars to boot.

Mana--My Fave Pop/Rock Band!!!!!!!

Leigh and I tried to sleep in late ---however, that didn't happen because we were both congested and coughing too much. Fortunately, we felt a bit better as the day progressed. Leigh worked on washing the truck, which caused our curious cat to get drenched because he kept getting in the way. And that feline had a moody, sulky look about him with his spiked fur when he managed to rush indoors for cover from the splashing of the garden hose. After we completed a few errands, we managed to have a late lunch and then come home to relax. Then I was all excited to see my fave band from Mexico was on the television. I was glued to the television watching the documentary on this AMAZING band that has made so many musical breakthroughs throughout the world with their beautiful pop/rock music that makes you feel a range of emotions with their exquisitely composed lyrics.

Bus Rideeeeee

Finally, we were off on our field trip today. On our way, I saw my hubby and his coworker waving to us on the opposite side of the highway. They were on their way to a job while we were on our way to Gattitown. It's a place where you can watch a film while dining on pizza, pasta, salad, etc (depending on what you choose during the buffet line!) Then you head to the gameroom where you use a plastic card (that looks like a credit card ) to play a variety of video games for tickets, which they redeem for prizes. The children had loads of fun, and the day ended quickly. In the end, I had kiddos with an assortment of toys ranging from neon-colored vampire teeth which they wore through the ENTIRE trip back..lol...as well as slinkies of all sizes and colors, bubbles, etc. They were thrilled with their treasure of toys, and many brought souvenirs for their younger brothers and sisters. One trip down, one more to go!

Getting Geared Up for the Week

The day went by smoothly even though BOTH the teachers and the kiddos are ready for tomorrow..lol. FIELD TRIPPPPPPP! YAYYYY! It's nice to go on our first OFFICIAL field trip this year. The children are excited and eager to go on the bus to talk their friends, listen to their headphones, and play on their psp's. [Not pcp's, which is what one speaker said at our meeting once, and I nearly burst out loud laughing. I had to bite my lip and force myself NOT to laugh.]

Home Is Where the Heart Is

You Were There

You were there when we took our first steps,
And went unsteadily across the floor.
You pushed and prodded: encouraged and guided,
Until our steps took us out the door...
You worry now ,"Are they ok?"
Is there more you could have done?
As we walk the paths of our unknown
You wonder,"Where have my children gone?"
Where we are is where you have led us,
With your special love you showed us a way,
To believe in ourselves and the decisions we make.
Taking on the challenge of life day-to-day.
And where we go you can be sure,
In spirit you shall never be alone.
For where you are is what matters most to us,
Because to us that will always be home...

Close Up of Our Scaly Pet

I was asleep for the majority of the morning while Leigh was wide awake. I finally woke up at 11:00 a.m. still with a stuffy nose, horrid cough, and a feeling as though any ounce of energy from my body was depleted and nonrenewable. BLAH! I vegetated on the couch while Leigh was working on the vehicle outside. We finally went out for a bit in the late afternoon, and we got this new pet before visiting Mom. We visited Mom for a short while since she was very tired and falling asleep.

Once we got home, Leigh worked on this project, and somehow I got involved with it as well---until I got the camera out and started going camera crazy. Then I got yelled at for taking TOO many pictures of the fish. So I was banned from taking anymore photos of the blue Betta. Geesh!
