Friday was a topsy-turvy type of day since our schedules at school were changed, and we kept our homeroom class with us all day long. We made Mother's Day cards, and then at 1:00, we congregated in the air-conditioned gymnasium. Our school had a Mother's Day celebration, which included a visit from Beto Ramon, a famous songwriter who sang a multitude of his Tejano songs to the audience of parents, students, and teachers for a full hour. He sang songs in both English and Spanish. I found an article on Mr. Ramon. (See:http://lmtonline.com/news/archive/0328/pagea1.pdf

Afterwards, the children and their parents chose books at the RIF (READING IS FUNDAMENTAL) BOOK FAIR, and the children read to their parents. Then the day ended, and the workweek was once again, over.
